Starting Point Church/Third Shot Coffee is located in the heart of beautiful Prescott Arizona. This youth ministry/coffee shop manager job combines typical café operational responsibilities with a core focus on youth ministry, mentorship and spiritual outreach to youth. This role involves running a successful business while using Starting Point Church environment and Third Shot Coffee as a hub for community connection and discipleship.

Role Summary:

Third Shot Coffee Manager will oversee all daily operations, lead and develop the team, and grow Third Shot Coffee through strong leadership, hospitality and vision. As a Starting Point Church Youth Leader you will build mentoring relationships and provide spiritual education and encouragement to Junior High and High School students Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. This role is for someone (maybe a married couple), who is high energy, can take ownership of the shop, grow a youth ministry, lead with integrity, maintain an excellent working relationship with Starting Point Church and work to build something special with their teams for the betterment of the Prescott community, Third Shot Coffee and Starting Point Church.

Core Responsibilities:

Ministry and Leadership.

  • Discipleship and Mentor Youth: Build mentoring relationships and provide spiritual encouragement and care for church youth.
  • Cultivate a Welcoming Atmosphere: Ensure a welcoming, safe, grace-filled and spiritually uplifting space that promotes fellowship and Christian values.
  • Develop and Implement Ministry Programs: Collaborate with other church/ministry staff to coordinate events, activities and outreach initiatives that engage young people and support the overall mission.
  • Model Christian Values: Express the ministry’s beliefs and values in all interactions, approaching each family and staff interaction with a heart of service.
  • Recruit and Train Volunteers: Enlist, equip, and schedule a team of volunteers, integrating ministry goals into the training. 

Coffee Shop Management

  • Oversee Daily Operations: Manage all day-to-day functions, including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and team building
  • Ensure Quality and Service: Uphold high standards for beverage/food quality, presentation, and exceptional customer service
  • Manage Budget: Work with finance director to develop and manage budget, track sales, control costs, and maintain financial records
  • Maintain Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines are consistently followed. ServSafe Certification required
  • Coordinate with Vendors: Manage vendor relationships and order supplies to maintain appropriate stock levels

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong Spiritual Grounding: A commitment to the faith, mission, and purpose of Starting Point Church is essential
  • Hospitality Experience: Prior experience in food service or retail environment, ideally with management experience
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Proven ability to lead train, motivate, and disciple a team of staff, volunteers and youth
  • Relational Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with youth, patrons and staff
  • Business Acumen: Experience with product management, maintaining budget, and general small business operations
